Your article is about Carmel, Indiana. The photos at the end of your post show L'Auberge Hotel in Carmel-by-the-sea, California. L'Auberge is one of the top rated hotels on the Monterey Peninsula and probably quite a bit more expensive than the Doubletree in Carmel, Indiana.

Carmel, California is quite a different tourist destination than Carmel, Indiana.
