New Miami Hotels

This onetime icon of Miami Beach, with its Aztec headdress of a roofline designed by Robert Swartzburg, was redone by Philippe Starck with his standard postmodern wit in 1995. The 194-room Delano got a bit soft when the swanky Shore Club opened nearby six years later, but after a lull—and the 2005 departure of founder Ian Schrager—it's now back and fiercer than ever. The sexy crowd is returning, thanks to an 2006 upgrade of the all-white rooms, which brought in everything from plasma TVs to new bedding. A state-of-the-art fitness center also opened in 2007. One other major improvement: Now that it's strictly Schrager-free, the legendarily beautiful but snooty staffers have retained their model-good looks but lost most of the attitude. Just remember to pack something skimpy but fabulous for the scene at the infinity-edge pool.

Las Vegas Hotels & Casino

In Las Vegas, the casinos do everything they can to keep you on the gaming floor so that you’re spending as much time as possible gambling during your stay. A company called Cantor Gaming has realized there are still a lot of missed opportunities where a casino guest might be away at the poker tables, slot machines, eating at a restaurant, lounging by the pool, or just relaxing in the room. This idea triggered the company to spend 5 years developing the eDeck, which is a wifi equipped portable gaming device allowing casino patrons to gamble for real money wherever they happen to be on the casino’s property.
To use the eDeck is fairly simple, players have to setup an account, fund it before the first use and you’re ready to start betting. In the future the eDeck will allow gamblers to play casino favorites like blackjack, baccarat, slots, video poker, roulette and the much anticipated live-action poker. An eDeck can be used anywhere in the casino (except gaming tables), so long as it’s within the range of the Radio Frequency Identification chip given to the gambler, all systems go. For the purpose of additional security, all monetary transactions are completed on a back-end server to ensure people’s money is safe.
This new system, which was approved by the Nevada Gaming Commission in 2008, not only makes it easier for people to bet, but also increases revenue for sports books. Instead of simply betting once on the outcome of a game, bettors can use an eDeck to view odds and bet multiple times. Plus it offers betting throughout the game on everything from a first down to whether a kicker makes or misses a field goal.

Taj Hotels

Jamshetji Nusserwanji Tata, founder of the Tata Group, opened the Taj Mahal Palace & Tower, the first Taj property, on December 16, 1903. He was inspired to open the grand luxury hotel after an incident involving racial discrimination at the Watson's Hotel in Mumbai, where he was refused entry as the hotel did not permit Indians. Hotels which accepted only European guests were common across British India. Jamsetji Tata had gone all out to ensure the success of this venture and to make Taj the most impressive jewel in the crown of the Tata Group. He travelled to London, Paris, Berlin and Düsseldorf to get nothing but the best for his hotel to be opened in Bombay (Mumbai). Due to its prime location, traditional architecture and massive size, this hotel soon gained the status of the most iconic hotel in Mumbai. He built this hotel in such a way that its backside is facing the Gateway of India -- which was built to welcome King George to India.

The Taj Mahal Palace & Tower, Mumbai, a 105-year old heritage hotel, retains its stature as the flagship Taj property. This grand hotel epitomized the group philosophy that still holds true today: provide impeccable service and unparalleled facilities so every stay is a memorable one.

Besides the Taj Mahal Palace & Tower, Mumbai, the Taj has many iconic, legendary and award-winning hotels around the world, and in India. These include: The Pierre, New York; Taj Boston, Boston; Campton Place, San Francisco; 51 Buckingham Gate, London; Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, Maldives; Taj Exotica Resort & Spa, Mauritius and Blue Sydney, Sydney. In India, these include: Taj Lake Palace, Udaipur; Rambagh Palace, Jaipur; Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur; The Taj Mahal Hotel, New Delhi; The Taj West End, Bangalore; Taj Malabar, Cochin and Taj Exotica, Goa.

Hyatt Hotels In Dubai

Grand Hyatt Guangzhou will be the fourth Grand Hyatt hotel in mainland China, following Grand Hyatt hotels in Beijing and Shanghai.
From the moment a visitor steps through its theatrical threshold, there is very little about the new Grand Hyatt Guangzhou that does not pique the visual sense. A huge slab of sandstone forms one wall and is set with warmly illuminated windows; a wall of glass looks out over a park, a green oasis in this neighbourhood; and an indoor bamboo garden is strikingly intersected by a glass bridge above it. It is not merely hype when the renowned California-based architect responsible for the hotel, Peter Remedios, calls his latest project, scheduled to open in spring 2008, "an architectural tour de force".
